EXTENSION ACTIVITIES:
(a).Lunch environmental awareness campaigns through NATIONAL ENVIRONMENT AWARENESS CAMPAIGN in collaboration with Assam Science Society and the Ministry of Forest and Environment, Govt. of India, New Delhi.
(b). Extended Financial Assistance to the Neighboring Schools and Colleges as well as to Socio-cultural Organizations, as and when necessary and demanded
(c).We have established Staff Welfare Fund for the welfare of the teachers and employees of the college at the time of urgency.
(d). we have also established Students’ Welfare Fund to assist needy and economically depressed class students.
(e). Organized several programmes to clean the environment and organized seminar “clean up the world” programmes as our college is a live member of Sydney based International NGO Clean up the World.
(f). Often organized medical camp and health check-up camp to help the community in understanding the importance of health and hygiene in their lives.
(g). Actively participate in the distribution of relief to the victims of devastating Flood occurred in Dhemaji, Lakhimpur and Sonitpur districts.
(h). Organized several AIDS awareness camps through National Service Scheme.
(i). N.S.S. wing of our college have extended several social welfare programmes in the past years.
(j). Provide Financial Assistance to out going bright as well as economically poor students for pursuing higher studies.
(k). Donated huge amount for the construction of SANKARI CULTURAL DEVELOPMENT CENTRE at Pathalipahar.
(l). Planted trees within our campus as well as in various institutions, villages, road sides in order to cope with the menace of pollution.
(m). Drama section of our college extended financial assistance by organizing the charity show to the bereaved family of late Simanta Bora ex-student of our college.
(n). Organized Veterinary Vaccination Camp to make the people conscious about animal health under the guidance of Veterinary College North Lakhimpur.
(o). Organized blood group test and health check-up camps with the cooperation of Director of Health Service, North Lakhimpur on 9-10-2002.blood group of 216 student and local public were tested and provided with blood group card. Again 163 peoples health was check-up and necessary medicines and prescription were given.
(p). Two-days Aids Awareness Camp cum Seminar was organized in the premise of the college on 16th and 17th Jan’1996. Dr. Umaram Tamuli Asst. Professor College of Veterinary Science North Lakhimpur and Dr. Bamin Tada Deputy Director of Health Service, Itanagar were participated.
(q). One AIDS awareness Camp was organized by the N.S.S. Wings of college on 7th June’1997 at Harmoti Science College.
(r). In January ‘2000 under the banner of Department of Education of our College a Adult Education and literacy Programme was organized. Approximately 80 Adult persons came forward to learn with great enthusiasm and appreciated the idea of under taking such programme by the college teachers and the students of the college with a special emphasis on the motto of EACH ONE AND TEACH ONE spirit.
(s). The Tribal Development Centre (TDC) of the college has organized several educational awareness programmes for the benefits of tribal communities living near the college. The member of TDC pay regular door to door visit in the tribal household to educate them for their all round development.
(t). On 25th Aug’06 a one day plantation programme has
been done by the teaching & non-teaching of the college to decorate the college
campus. Nearly 100 coconut plants have been planted in this programme.
(u). A felicitation programme for the students of Xth Standard (CBSE & SEBA) was held on 10th June’06 for the students getting more than 75% and above. The meeting was inaugurated by Mr. M. Borah, Principal, Sankardeva Mahavidyalaya and presided over by Mr. B. Borah, MLA Bihpuria LAC. Deputy Commissioner of Lakhimpur District took part as a Guest of Honour and Inspectress of Schools Lakhimpur, Circle Officers of Bihpuria & Narayanpur and several other dignitaries spoke in the occasion. A total numbers of 43 students of Bihpuria constituency were felicitated in the programme.
(v). A book fair was organized by Sankardeva Study and Reasearch Centre and College Library of Sankardeva Mahavidyalaya in association with ‘ANESWA’ Group of publication, Guwahati from 13th August’07 to 17th August’07 in the College premises.
During the days of the book fair, a good number of students of our college including the neighbouring area visited the book fair and has purchased a remarkable numbers of books. The local people of the area also showed a positive attitude towards the purchase of books.
In the last day of the book fair, i.e. on 17th August’07 a Competition of Art and Drawing for school students, a quiz Competition in both Junior and senior section and a symposium for college students was held in the college auditorium. The Competition was inaugurated by Mr. M. Bora, Principal, Sankardeva Mahavidyalaya and the said competition was conducted under the Chairmanship of Mr. Bhaba Kanta Dutta, Head of the Department of History of our college.
All the prize winners of the competition were awarded with valuable books and certificate by the publisher group.
(w). A Hypertensive Camp cum Seminar was organized by Sankardeva Mahavidyalaya, sponsored by IPCA Laboratories of Mumbai on 19th August’07 in the college premises.
In the first phase of the camp a Seminar on ‘Hypertension and its remedies’ was held, which was inaugurated by Principal, Mr. Mohendra Bora of our college. The prime speech of the seminar was given by Dr. Debajit Bora, Health and Medical Officer of Laluk, Lakhimpur. He is followed by Dr. Arun Bora, Medical Officer of Harmutty Tea Estate. Both the resource persons analysised the causes and remedies of hypertension, fluently to the public participating in the Seminar. An interaction session was held, in where the participants clarified their doubts through the resource persons.
A total number of 107 persons were checked up their health in the Camp. The following doctors were involved in the said Camp.

Medicines were provided to the hypertensive patients by the sponsoring authority.
